<p>The &#8220;7&#8243; <a title="What are the Seven Principles of Health?" href="http://dontolmanusa.com/self-care/seven-principles-of-health/" target="_blank">principles of health</a> are the &#8220;<em>science of life</em>&#8220;.  The science of life is more powerful than all of the weapons of war, more powerful than the tyranny in all of its forms of life-negation.  For this cause, the <a title="Get your copy today!" href="http://www.dontolmanstore.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&amp;cPath=1&amp;products_id=1" target="_blank">FDR </a>never talks of fighting disease, nor waging war on bacteria, the FDR is not anti and has  no mention of antioxidants, antibiotics <em>(against life)</em>, no anti-acids, no antivirals, antibacterial, antiseptics, antifungal, antispasmotics, antihistamines, antigens, antidiuretics, anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, antibodies, <em>(ad nauseum)</em>.  The FDR&#8217;s call is to bring an end to the terrorism of war, all wars, especially on disease.  Isn&#8217;t it abundantly clear to any truly thinking individual we have miserably lost that war?  That we only made the so-called enemy stronger?  Let&#8217;s drop the weapons of war and marketing &#8220;mystery&#8221; of the war.  Instead of calling the powerful nutrient activity of whole food pigments-antioxidants, why can&#8217;t we simply say:</p>

<li>&#8220;Green foods instead of lutein?&#8221;</li>
<li>&#8220;Blue, indigo and violet foods instead of anthocyanins?&#8221;</li>
</ol>

<p><em><strong>After all, we speak English, not Old Latin.</strong></em></p>
<p>The FDR is meant to simplify; for this cause, we use common words when applicable.  We have used medical Latin to reference disease symptoms, just because most people would look, for instance, at <strong>aneurysm</strong> because of their doctor instead of &#8220;<em>ballooned tube</em>&#8220;.  Although ballooned tube is what aneurysm means.</p>
<p><strong>Man is helpless when he lacks knowledge; helplessness due to ignorance is the fertilizer of cartels, of dictator-ships, of turning one&#8217;s body over to the &#8220;<em>Experts</em>&#8220;.</strong></p>
<p>Self-care is not easy for some.  It&#8217;s easier to sell one&#8217;s independence for security than it is to lead a responsible independent existence and to be master of oneself.  To learn, to intuit, to trust in the cosmic nature of intelligence that resides in all 76 trillion cells of one&#8217;s body.  It is tough in the face of multimillion-dollar ad campaigns, as well as bought-and-paid-for curriculums of formal education.  The slanted, directed, edited and paid-for mass media editorials of TV, newspapers and magazines.</p>

<p>Ever wonder why the &#8220;flu season&#8221; is from the beginning of the holiday season until three weeks after the New Years?</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s called &#8216; cadaverinous pustulant fermentation&#8217; (dietary filth).  People, starting at Thanksgiving, pull out the fun festive feasting&#8221; gorging themselves on meat, sweets,  lots of alcohol, remedies for gas, headache, acid reflux, supplements,  ad nauseam (pun intended).  &#8220;You don&#8217;t get the flu; you cause the flu!</p>
<p>&#8230;When you take anything other than air, water, sunshine, walking or whole foods for nausea, fever, chills, headaches, etc, you are curing (stopping) the body&#8217;s cure.  That is how people get in deep trouble, especially if they medicate and supplement for long periods of time&#8230;</p>
<p>&#8230;If you overdo it and get flu symptoms (healing), try this to ease them&#8230;</p>
<p><strong><em>Here&#8217;s how to help yourself:</em></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Don&#8217;t take any supplements or medications, even over-the-counter ones.  Yeh, they can give what appears as relief by stopping the healing response, but it is only buried, masked, and you will deal with it at a later time as a chronic condition (cancer, heart disease, diabetes, etc)</li>
<li>Rest, lounge and <a title="Drink water - lots of it!  Read more about &quot;Understanding Water&quot;" href="http://dontolmanusa.com/self-care/understanding-water/" target="_blank">drink </a>lots of fluids</li>
<li>Gargle with salt water for <a title="Read more on sore throats, tonsillitis" href="http://dontolmanusa.com/self-care/tonsillitis/" target="_blank">sore throat</a> about every two hours</li>
<li>Drink one quart of mild <a title="Salt's worth..." href="http://dontolmanusa.com/self-care/worth-salt/" target="_blank">saline</a>:  1/4 teaspoon per quart of water</li>
<li>Sit in a hot tub or hot bath</li>
<li>Use ceiling fans and humidifiers and, as an added joy, your favorite essential oil fragrance.</li>
<li>Put olive oil or soy butter on your sore nostrils.  Do it every time before and after you blow your nose, even start doing it before it gets that way</li>
<li>Do hot water and salt foot soaks; they really do work</li>
<li>Dress warm, but get fresh air &#8211; lots of it&#8221;</li>
</ul>

<p><em><strong>Think about it like this:</strong></em></p>
<p>When you smoke, it&#8217;s very much  like you have a ravenous dragon living inside your head.  When you feed him nicotine, he says, &#8220;That was good!  Do it again!&#8221;  And you obey, because when you don&#8217;t feed him, he messes around in your mind and makes his hunger become your obsession.</p>
<p>You can&#8217;t kill the dragon of nicotine addiction &#8211; but you can put it to sleep.</p>

<p>What most people know is that if you don&#8217;t feed the dragon for a month or so, he will go to sleep &#8211; and you will be freed from the power of his gluttonous appetite.</p>
<p>Sound fanciful?  It&#8217;s actually pretty accurate.  You just need to  understand the biological process.</p>
<p>What&#8217;s really happening is a change in your brain chemistry.  Nicotine triggers a variety of chemicals, which in turn trigger a genetically programmed &#8220;pleasure&#8221; message:  &#8220;Do it again&#8221;, the brain program says.  &#8220;Again!  Do it again!  Now!&#8221;  That message is very persuasive, as you know.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, nicotine is an addictive, destructive drug.  What&#8217;s more, tobacco smoke contains more than 4,000 substances, including arsenic, butane and formaldehyde.  Together, they cause heart disease, many cancers, emphysema and a host of other terrible, deadly illnesses.  Plus, cigarettes are expensive.  But you already know all of that.  You smoke anyway.  The problem is that the dragon is so darned insistent.  You need to learn how to put him to sleep.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s be honest.  Quitting is hard initially.  The powerful dragon doesn&#8217;t go to sleep without a fight.  He screams at you to light up again.  He gives you headaches, if you don&#8217;t.  But the most important fact to know is:  He only keeps it up for a limited time!  The dragon&#8217;s energy is limited!  It runs out &#8211; and fairly soon.  After a few weeks of hollering and sulking, he stops his tantrums, slinks away, quiets down and goes to sleep.  The trick for you is to outlast him &#8211; to starve him until he sleeps.</p>

<p>During the “big depression” (the one in the 30’s) a lot of people in the southern United States ate a lot of corn a great food, but corn is very low in tryptophan.</p>
<p>Tryptophan is one of the 10 essential amino acids that the body uses to synthesize the proteins it needs. It&#8217;s well-known for its role in the production of nervous system messengers, especially those related to relaxation, restfulness, and sleep.</p>
<p>Tryptophan is converted in the body to niacin. Niacin has been proven many times to treat people with serious cases of depression and mental illnesses. Most of those people suffered pallegra which is a lack/deficiency of vitamin B3. Among other things they suffered dementia, schizophrenia and psychosis. They all had been seriously affected by it and it was discovered at some stage that vitamin B3 (niacin) is the answer. Once a little niacin was added to their diet &#8211; over 90% of them were cured. This is just one example of what the right nutrition can do to chronic illnesses.</p>
<p><strong>Here are 7 more home remedies:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Eat raw till healed! </strong>Here is an exercise. Take a whole month and eat fresh raw food in that month. A couple of handfuls of cashew nuts will treat the body for depression, naturally, the same as a prescription dose of Prozac that can be dangerous and even deadly.  Cashew nuts are a meal by themselves; you will not be hungry after eating two handfuls of cashews.</li>
<li><strong>Exercise. Exercise and exercise. </strong>Do not abuse the body; 3-4 hours of exercise per week will do wonders to your body and your brain, specifically.<strong></strong></li>
<li><strong>Combine all the above. </strong>There is a way to heal depression, and you have to act upon it and even work for it; nothing is instant and there is no magic pill. In fact, all those pills you are taking for depression will magically kill you. Depression is a serious illness and it has to be treated naturally to achieve a high level of success.</li>

<p><strong>What can high-tryptophan foods do for you?</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Help regulate your appetite</li>
<li>Help you sleep better</li>

<p>Whole Plant Food sources of tryptophan in their highest concentrations include: raw dairy products, nuts, seeds, bananas, soybeans and soy products.</p>
<p>Tryptophan has two important functions. First, a small amount of the tryptophan we get in our diet (about 3%) is converted into niacin(vitamin B3) by the liver. This conversion can help prevent the symptoms associated with niacin deficiency when dietary intake of this vitamin is low.</p>
<p>Second, tryptophan serves as a precursor for serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps the body regulate appetite, sleep patterns, and mood. Because of its ability to raise serotonin levels, tryptophan foods has been used to heal a variety of conditions, most notably insomnia, depression, and anxiety.</p>
<p><strong>What are deficiency symptoms for tryptophan?</strong></p>
<p>As an essential amino acid, dietary deficiency of tryptophan may cause the symptoms characteristic of protein deficiency, which include weight loss and impaired growth in infants and children.</p>
<p>When accompanied by eatable whole food niacin deficiency, lack of tryptophan in the diet can also cause pellagra, the classic niacin deficiency disease that is characterized by the &#8220;4 Ds&#8221; &#8211; dermatitis, diarrhea, dementia, and death.</p>
<p>Dietary deficiency of tryptophan may lead to low levels of serotonin. Low serotonin levels are associated with depression, anxiety, irritability, impatience, impulsiveness, inability to concentrate, weight gain, overeating, carbohydrate cravings, poor dream recall, and insomnia.</p>
<p>High dietary <strong>whole</strong> <strong>food</strong> intake of tryptophan from food sources is not known to have ever caused any symptoms of toxicity.</p>
<p><strong>What factors might contribute to a deficiency of tryptophan?</strong></p>
<p>Vitamin B6 is necessary for the conversion of tryptophan to both niacin and serotonin. Consequently, a dietary deficiency of vitamin B6 may result in low serotonin levels and/or impaired conversion of tryptophan to niacin.</p>
<p>In addition, several dietary, lifestyle, and health factors reduce the conversion of tryptophan to serotonin, including cigarette smoking, refined sugar intake, artificial sweeteners, hard alcohol abuse, excessive consumption of animal protein.</p>
<p><strong>Drug-Nutrient Interactions</strong></p>
<p><strong>What medications affect tryptophan?</strong></p>
<p>People taking the anti-depressant medications known as selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs) (including Prozac, Paxil, and Zoloft) should consult a physician before taking any other supplement or medication that also artificially increases the amount of, or the effect of, serotonin, in the body.</p>
<p><strong>How do other nutrients interact with tryptophan?</strong></p>
<p><strong>Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, and Folic Acid </strong>and Magnesium are necessary for the metabolization of tryptophan. In addition, tyrosine and phenylalanine compete with tryptophan for absorption, supplement sellers say.</p>
<p>Because of this, some &#8216;health care practitioners&#8217; believe that food sources of tryptophan do not cause a significant enough increase in blood levels of tryptophan to produce therapeutic results, and that tryptophan must, therefore, be taken as a supplement to increase its blood levels, don&#8217;t fall for this crap&#8230; $$$$supplements$$$$$Drugs$$$$!!!! It&#8217;s not true.</p>

<p>No junk, no pop, no sodas, no sports drinks.  Only whole foods which are  80 percent raw and 20 percent heated.  Exercise and be patient.   Diabetes will resolve in 14 days to six months.</p>
<p>Only two types of sugars exist and they are the multi-billion dollar medical mystery of Diabetes.</p>
<p>1.  Simple sugars, called fast sugars, are all processed, refined or  artificial, synthetic sugars.  Simple sugars cause diabetes.  Their  molecular size is so small that they cross the blood brain barrier  quickly, hence their name, &#8220;fast&#8221; sugars.  This causes the brain to tell  the pancreas to release insulin.  Insulin in the blood stream sends  messages to the body, which tell it that it is in &#8220;extreme danger&#8221; and  to &#8220;lie down&#8221;.  Insulin zaps your energy so you&#8217;ll have to rest or take a  break.  It also tells your body to &#8220;put on layers of fat to protect  yourself&#8221; and the body responds to the message.</p>
<p>2.  Complex sugars are &#8220;slow&#8221; sugars.  They are unrefined and occur in  nature as fruits, nuts, seeds, grains, and, contrary to public opinion,  even sweet potatoes and honey.  They cross the blood-brain barrier  slowly, sending a message through the blood to the body that all is safe  and well.  This causes the pancreas to release glucagons, which  energize you, making you want to walk, run and play.  Glucagons even  cause you to burn stored fat.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s it.  That&#8217;s the big mystery.  Diabetes testing, also known as  testing your blood sugar, is nuts.  It&#8217;s nothing more than an open  invitation to turn your health, your money and your life over to a  lifetime of ritual invasion.</p>
<p>People have long recognized that what you eat can play a critical role  in both preventing and controlling Type II diabetes.  Perhaps the best  way to understand the effects of one&#8217;s diet on diabetes is to look at  two similar groups of people who differ primarily in what they eat.</p>
<p>Consider the Pima Indians.  Researchers discovered that the Pimas, who  live in Mexico and eat a lot of corn, beans and fruits, are seldom  overweight and rarely develop diabetes.  By contrast, the Pima Indians  in Arizona eat an Americanized diet that is high in sugar and fat.  They  commonly develop diabetes by the age of 50.</p>
<p>Just as a bad diet can aid in the cause of diabetes, a good one can help  control or even prevent it.  A good diet consists mainly of high-fiber,  high-complex carbohydrate foods such as taro, poi, greens and fruits.   Carbohydrates, which are found in nearly all foods except animals &#8211;  fish, pigs, cows and poultry &#8211; are the body&#8217;s main source of energy.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">There are two types of carbohydrates: starches and simple carbohydrates.  Starches include foods like rice, beans, potatoes and pasta.  Simple carbohydrates, called sugars, include the natural sugars found in milk, fruits and vegetables, as well as honey.  The body turns both complex (slow) and simple (fast) carbohydrates into glucose, which is either immediately converted into energy or stored until needed.  Contrary to former belief, most people with diabetes should eat a diet that&#8217;s higher in carbohydrates, particularly the complex kind.  Fruit is it.  Eat up!</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">A high-fiber diet has been shown to relieve everything from constipation to heart disease.  It also plays a powerful role in controlling blood sugar.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">There are two types of fiber: soluble and insoluble.  Insoluble fiber, which does not dissolve in water, speeds food through the intestine, thereby preventing constipation.  It&#8217;s the soluble form of fiber, however, that stabilizes blood sugar.  Soluble fiber helps prevent glucose from being absorbed into the blood too quickly by forming a gummy gel in the intestine.  This in turn helps keep blood sugar levels from rising or dipping too drastically.</p>

<li>Keep family pets out of certain rooms, like your bedroom, and bathe them, if necessary.</li>
<li>Remove carpets or rugs from your room.  Hard floor surfaces don&#8217;t collect dust as much as carpets</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t hang heavy drapes and get rid of other items that allow dust to accumulate.</li>
<li>Clean frequently.  If your allergy is severe, you may be able to get someone else to do your dirty work!</li>
<li>Use special covers to seal pillows and mattresses, if you&#8217;re allergic to dust mites.</li>
<li>If you&#8217;re allergic to pollen, keep windows closed when pollen season is at its peak, change your clothing after being outdoors and don&#8217;t mow lawns.</li>
<li>Avoid damp areas, such as basements, if you&#8217;re allergic to mold and keep bathrooms and other mold-prone areas clean and dry.</li>
</ol>
<p>The main reason for a person to experience an allergic reaction is that their body makes a special type of protector cell called Immunoglobulin E (IgE), which can react with environmental substances, allergens, in a harmful way.</p>
<p>When allergens and IgE cross, they release histamine, which produce symptoms in the chest, eyes, nose, skin, etc.  The most common allergens are animal dander, house dust, house-dust mites, molds, pollens, some drugs and many <a href="http://dontolmanusa.com/self-care/food-allergies/" target="_blank">foodstuffs</a>, especially eggs, fish, milk and nuts.  Bee and wasp stings may cause allergic reactions which lead to fatality in rare cases.  Cosmetics, dyes, feathers, perfumes and wool may also act as allergens.</p>
